Why I am Running
It’s time for a change within the Pennington County Board of Commissioners. I believe District 3 and all of Pennington County deserve Commissioners who are willing to listen to all sides of an issue. They deserve a board that will not only collaborate within itself, but also amongst fellow citizens in order to create the best possible solution for everyone. This solution is not finding someone to blame, rather it is determining what can be done to best support the people of Pennington County.
I am a candidate that will research and listen in order to understand the issues that affect us all - from property taxes, property owner’s rights, renewable energy, and data centers - to public safety, county policies, and county-owned property.
I credit my experience in Law Enforcement, the military, government-employment, and private business ownership for my unique qualifications to lead from the front. I prize accountability and am willing to make the hard decisions.
One such decision is budgeting. I understand and have experience working with budgets on the federal, local, business, and personal levels. I also understand that you can’t spend more than what is available, and if you want to take less in, then something needs to be cut from spending. A proper budget is a simple reality of life. I know what it is to raise a family and simply survive when the government tries to take as much as it can from my pocket. I have held side jobs in the private business sector just so my family could succeed. I am determined to find a solution that will alleviate this stress for others.
My life has revolved around civil service; I was raised by parents who were both educators and additionally, my father was a local Mayor. He participated in other state-level boards and commissions, and that’s where I discovered the value of involvement. My personal call to civil service began when I entered the military and law enforcement and then continued on in government services. I worked as a South Dakota Correctional Officer, and I am currently the Investigator for the Pennington County Public Defender’s Office. And finally, I remain active in several civic organizations in a voluntary-service status.
All of these experiences make me truly qualified to represent not only the residents in District 3, but all of Pennington County. Please support me and vote for me on June 2, 2026. Thank you!
